Eagles, QMJHL Release 2021-22 Schedule

Today the QMJHL and Cape Breton Eagles have announced their schedule for the 2021-22 season.

Following consecutive seasons disrupted by Covid-19, the QMJHL will return to a 68 game schedule as each team plays 34 home and 34 road games. The Eagles will kick off the campaign with a home and home set against the Halifax Mooseheads- the Eagles will host Halifax on Friday, October 1st, and then visit the provincial capital the following night.

In total, the Eagles will play each of their Maritime rivals nine times, with the exception of Acadie-Bathurst whom the Eagles will play eight times. The Eagles will host five home games against both Halifax & Moncton, and four home games each against Saint John, Charlottetown, and Acadie-Bathurst.

For the first time since the 2019-20, Cape Breton will have a chance to battle the Québec based clubs of the QMJHL- with one home and one away game against each of the 12 East & West division clubs. Inter-division play begins for the Eagles on October 13th, when Dallas first round choice Mavrik Bourque and his Shawinigan Cataractes visit Centre 200.

Half of the Eagles home schedule will take place either on Friday (nine games) or Saturday (eight games). The Eagles will host six Sunday afternoon games, in addition to night games on Tuesday (two), Wednesday (four), and Thursday (four). And for the first time ever, the Eagles will play at home on Thanksgiving Monday as the Eagles host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 2 PM on October 11th.

All Sunday games at Centre 200 will begin at 3 PM. The Eagles will also play a pair of Saturday afternoon contests- hosting Baie-Comeau on January 22nd at 2 PM, and playing the final game of the regular season against Saint John on April 2nd at 3 PM. All other games on the schedule are scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
