Eagles Make DiMattia Trade Official

On Thursday night, the Eagles officially acquired goaltender Gio DiMattia from the Moncton Wildcats in exchange for forward Kiefer Lyons.

Both players had been on loan throughout training camp.

DiMattia appeared in 31 games with the Grand Falls Rapids of the Maritime Junior Hockey League last season, posting a 12-16-1-1 record with a 3.80 goals-against-average and a .895 save percentage.

Lyons played in 38 games in his rookie season in Sydney last season, recording one goal, 39 penalty minutes and a minus-13 rating.
