Cape Breton Eagles Renew Head Coach Chadd Cassidy

The Cape Breton Eagles announced today that the hockey club will be renewing Chadd Cassidy as Head Coach.

“Over the short time Chadd has been with the organization, we are very happy with the changes he has brought to the team. He is a tireless worker, outstanding motivator who strongly believes in development and fundamentals. Chadd is a great person, and we are excited to support him in taking our hockey team to the next level.” stated Eagles president Gerard Shaw.

Cassidy took over as interim coach in January during the time the QMJHL was once again on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cassidy jumped right into the lead role and began implementing immediate change and culture in the dressing room. Cassidy is very much looking forward to being part of the future of creating a winning culture in Cape Breton. “Cape Breton is a special place. It is an honour and privilege to coach here. We have a lot of work in front of us, but I am excited to bring a winner to the Nest. I can’t wait for the 2022-2023 season”

A native of Lake Placid, New York, Cassidy has over 20 years of coaching experience including time spent in the AHL (Rochester). USHL (Omaha), and with the US national team development program (NTDP).
