The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have completed a pair of trades at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 QMJHL winter trading period.
The Screaming Eagles have acquired 19 year old defenseman Roddie Sandilands from the Shawinigan Cataractes in exchange for Blainville-Boisbriand’s third round draft pick in 2020. Sandilands was signed as a free agent by Shawinigan partway through the 2017-18 season. This season Sandilands has nine points in 38 games for the Cataractes.
The Screaming Eagles have also traded 19 year old defenseman/forward Ian Smallwood to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in exchange for Acadie-Bathurst’s seventh round draft pick in 2020. Smallwood was originally acquired by Cape Breton in a trade with the Québec Remparts in 2017-18. This season Smallwood has 12 points in 27 games with the Screaming Eagles.
