2018-19 Screaming Eagles Schedule Released

The 2018-19 schedule for the QMJHL has been released. The QMJHL continues to use a 68 game schedule, and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will play 34 games at Centre 200 and 34 on the road in the coming season.

Cape Breton opens the 2018-19 campaign in Charlottetown against the Islanders on Friday, September 21st at 7:30. The following Friday, September 28th, the season will see its first instalment of the Battle Of Nova Scotia as the Screaming Eagles host the Halifax Mooseheads at 7 PM in the home opener.

The Screaming Eagles will play each of the QMJHL’s Qu├ębec based clubs twice, once home and once away. Cape Breton will play defending President’s Cup champions Bathurst eight times (four at home and four away), and the rest of their Maritime Division rivals nine times. The Screaming Eagles will visit both Charlottetown and Saint John on five occasions, while Moncton and Halifax will each visit Centre 200 five times. On Tuesday, October 2nd, Cape Breton will pay its first visit to the brand new downtown arena in Moncton.

Halifax and Cape Breton will renew their holiday tradition when the teams tangle in the third annual Hurley Cup, a two game total goal series for Nova Scotian hockey supremacy. The first game of the series will be on Sunday, December 30th, at 2 PM in Sydney and the return match goes 24 hours later in Halifax.

The Hurley Cup game in Sydney is one of four afternoon home games the Screaming Eagles will play in 2018-19. The other three will be 4 PM starts- Sunday, November 4 (vs. Bathurst) , Saturday, February 2 (vs. Victoriaviile), and Sunday, March 3 (vs. Moncton).

In total the Screaming Eagles will play 22 home games on the weekend: nine Friday games, ten Saturday games, and three Sunday games. Cape Breton will play one home game on Tuesday, six home games on Wednesday, and five on Thursday. With the exception of the above mentioned four afternoon games, all home games will begin at 7 PM.

Saint John will visit Sydney on Wednesday, March 13th, in the final game of the regular season at Centre 200. The Screaming Eagles will then close out the 2018-19 calendar with a pair of games in Bathurst on March 15th & 16th.
