The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has unveiled its schedule for the 2017-18 regular season . Each of the QMJHL’s 18 teams will play 68 games, 34 at home and 34 away. The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles play each of their Maritime Division rivals at least eight times each, while playing one game home and one away against each team from the East & West Divisions.
Cape Breton opens its schedule at the KC Irving Centre in Bathurst, against the Titan, on Friday, September 22nd at 7 PM. The following weekend, the Screaming Eagles will play their first pair of home games of the new season. The Titan will visit Centre 200 on Friday, September 29th at 7 PM and the Saint John Sea Dogs will visit the Nest on Sunday, October 1st at 4 PM.
All Sunday games at Centre 200 for the 2017-18 season will be 4PM starts, unless otherwise indicated. After each 4PM Sunday start the Screaming Eagles will host a skate with Screech following the game.
On Friday, October 13th the Halifax Mooseheads will make their first visit of the season to Cape Breton in the annual Rivalry Week matchup between the two clubs. (The return contest on Rivalry Week takes place on Saturday, October 14th, in Halifax). Halifax will again visit on Saturday, October 28th, when Cape Breton holds their annual pink in the rink game in support of breast cancer research and awareness.
This season will also mark the second instalment of the Hurley Cup, a two game total goal series between the two Nova Scotian rivals. The Hurley Cup opens on Saturday, December 30th at 7 PM in Halifax and concludes the following day, Sunday, December 31st at 2PM in Cape Breton.

– Prior to the Friday, November 10th game against the Charlottetown Islanders, the annual Remembrance Day ceremony will be held.
– Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 will see a special 4 PM puck drop as it will be Timbit Jamboree day when the Screaming Eagles host the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
– On Friday, March 16th, Cape Breton will hold its annual Irish jersey night when the Screaming Eagles host the Sea Dogs. The Screaming Eagles will wear special green jerseys in support of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. The two teams will meeting again the following day, Saturday, March 17th, at 4 PM, in the final game of the regular season for both clubs.
